Mark and I just commented the other day that it's hard to believe that we've only been home with Maya for about 6 weeks. It seems like it's been so much longer, in a good way. We are constantly learning new things about her. She rubs her left ear when she's tired. She digs her bath time. She smiles every morning when we lift her out of her crib. She's discovered the thrill of swimming and the joys of a good game of tickle and peek-a-boo. She likes Indian food and prefers to hold her left leg straight up in the air while enjoying a bottle in the rocker. She likes it even better when that foot receives unsolicited kisses from the person who is feeding her, so we are more than happy to oblige. She enjoys a good book. She loves our cats more than they love her. She loves to smile with others and knows that clapping is a crowd hit. She makes us laugh every day. We are definitely the lucky ones.
