It's been awhile since we've posted, and a lot has happened in that time! Maya continues to grow, develop, and entertain. We repeatedly comment to one another and to others that we can't imagine our lives without her. We celebrated her first birthday with family on a very hot August evening. I tried my hand at one Ethiopian dish for all to sample and, although good, it tasted nothing like the same dish we ate in Ethiopia. Just the same, Maya LOVED the spicy sauce from this dish that her Nana put on hot dog bun for her to eat. Mmmm! She had a fantastic time with all of her guests, had some cake, and went off to bed a happy and healthy one year old.
Well, Maya's first birthday seems like a good time to stop blogging about our life with Maya. Our intention was not to maintain a diary of Maya's life with us, but to create a way to allow family and friends to follow our journey to Ethiopia and our first child. The literal journey has come to an end while the figurative one only begins. Thank you for reading and supporting us along the way. It helped more than you may ever realize.
It seems a shame to let this web address go to waste, however, so stay tuned - there is a good chance we will return to Ethiopia in the future...
