It's been awhile since we've posted and there has been a lot going on! Maya continues to provide joy that we never imagined possible and we love her just as much. She is walking, babbling, using some of her new words, giving big wet kisses (licks), playing peek-a-boo, enjoying books, exploring the possibilities in a world of funny faces, and giving hugs that we love to receive, among many other things. She's been a busy girl.
We've been busy, also. In September, we started our second Ethiopian adoption! This time around, the paper chase was much easier and seemed to go so much faster. If you aren't familiar with the paperwork involved, check out one of the first posts on this blog to familiarize yourself. Trust me, it's a lot. We've completed all but a few required items. Once they're submitted, our dossier will fly on over to Ethiopia for review and we will begin our second wait for a referral. We haven't even checked in on updated estimated lengths of wait at this point. We've become comfortable with the "it will happen when it's meant to happen" approach. It certainly won't occur any sooner than Maya's referral did, so we're looking at a 7-9 month wait, at least. In the meantime, we will provide updates and information on our blog for friends and family who are interested. We will also, undoubtedly, continue to enjoy our family of three.
